Adventure Game from Eidos Interactive, by Core Design
Fifth installment in the Tomb Raider saga. Following on from Lara's supposed death, the game consists of four chapters that take the form of flashbacks linked together by the recollections of characters familiar from the earlier games. Many aspects of Lara's past are revealed and the game incorporates almost forty cutscenes. Settings include an industrial complex, Rome and docks in Russia.
The difficulty level increases significantly over the course of the game. The early states are suitable for newcomers to Tomb Raider, whilst the later levels are the most challenging yet. Mini-games, such as a target range game, are incorporated.
The game features some improvements to the graphics over the previous games, particularly in the area of character animation. New weapons include a machine gun.
