Adventure Game from Eidos Interactive, by Core Design
This is the fourth title in this highly successful series of adventure games featuring intrepid archaeologist, Lara Croft. This installment offers improved graphics and enhanced AI. Also new is the fact that the bulk of game is set in a single country, Egypt.
The levels are generally smaller than in the last game and the emphasis has been shifted from mazes to other types of puzzle solving. Some of this comes in the form of mini-games, for instance you'll find yourself learning an ancient board game as you play against a statue of a god.
New moves feature, such as climbing round corners, climbing poles and swinging on ropes. Lara's inventory has also been extended and includes a diary and a set of binoculars. It is also possible to combine objects to make a new tool.
The game's 3D graphics are impressive, the rendering and animation of characters, detail of the backgrounds and the lighting effects are noticeably improved.
