Adventure Game from Interplay, by Black Isle Studios
RPG. It has an AD&D license and uses the Infinity engine (also used in the Baldur's Gate games). You play a powerful character called The Nameless One, who is immortal. The game opens with him waking up on a mortuary slab with nothing more than a note, tattooed on his back. The game boasts a very strong and innovative plot.
You encounter numerous NPCs along the way, some of who will become join your party. Such interactions are a key part of the game, as this is the major source of information about who your character is/was and what's going on.
The game's interface is effective. The combat system is mostly automated. The game boasts excellent graphics and audio.
