Adventure Game from 3DO, by New World Computing
RPG set in a fantasy universe. Apart from the now-standard gameplay and strong story (the traditional strengths of this series), the game's major strength is the size of the gameworld. Set on the world of Erathia, the story involves a struggle for the throne between Archibald Ironfist (Guildmaster of Necromancers) and his brother Roland.
You control a team of four characters. There is a wide choice available in character creation. As unusual, they become more powerful as the game progresses. Some new character options and magic spells have been added. The gameplay consists of exploring the land and performing various missions that require puzzle solving, interaction with the world's other inhabitants and combat. During combat you can switch between turn-based and real-time modes. A nice feature of the game is the card game, AcroMage that you can play when in taverns. The game's graphics could be better despite the addition of limited 3D acceleration.
