Innovative online adventure game. Rather than being a retail product, this game requires a subscription. A pilot is available for free. The game has a strong plot which is divided into episodes, developed through regular briefings and by your investigation of leads. The name refers to an organization which some conspiracy theorists believe exists. Majestic 12 is thought to be a top-level organization that deals with UFOs and alien contact.
Various means of communication are employed to develop the story including phone, fax, instant messaging and email. The gameplay primarily involves puzzle-solving. Video clips relate significant events. You answer some questions before joining the game and these are then used, together with your actions in-game, to build up a character profile, which effects the way the game develops for the individual. As might be expected for such an innovative game, it is not without its problems.
