RPG and eagerly-anticipated sequel to Lunar: Silver Star Story. Both games are revamped versions of games that appeared on Sega CD. Set a some time after the original the game, although it does features some familiar NPCs alongside a new set of main characters. The game boasts a strong story. The hero is a young warrior named Hiro and he is accompanied by a flying cat named Ruby. The adventure begins when Hiro is told that there is a great danger nearby. When he investigates, he finds a beautiful woman, named Lucia, who begs him to help her save the world from the god of destruction, Zophar.
The gameplay primarily involves exploration, turn-based combat, interaction with NPCs and puzzle-solving. You can opt to have battles settled by the computer. Refinements have been made to the gameplay, for instance it is possible to move during the battle sequences. The game's 2D graphics remain pretty basic.
