Adventure Game from Sierra Studios
Also known as King's Quest 8, this is part of a long-running series of adventure games set in a fairy-tale world. You play a citizen of the kingdom of Daventry, named Connor. The premise is that all the people have been turned to stone. Connor was safe because he had part of a magic mask. The game is spent searching for the other parts of the mask in order to free the people. Also, numerous enemies populate the land. This results in a new addition to the gameplay; real-time combat. The gameplay also involves exploration, item collection, interaction with NPCs and puzzle-solving.
This installment marks the move to fully 3D graphics. There is a modified control system which gives players full control over the camera, as well as the Connor character. It is also possible to switch to a first-person view, useful for examining items. The game's graphics and controls are generally effective.
