Adventure Game from Bethesda Softworks
Acclaimed RPG, now considered a retro classic. It is set in a well-realized, medieval-inspired magical world named Tamriel. It is populated by a variety of races, including dwarves and elves. The game offers a great deal of freedom and an effective character creation/development system. You choose a race and can adjust various areas of appearance. There are three basic character classes; thief, warrior, and mage, which all have six sub-classes. Each class has its own strengths and weaknesses. A good feature of the magic system is that mages can make up their own spells by combining components.
The gameworld covered in this installment covers 400 settlements populated by numerous NPCs and enemies. NPCs can help the player-character by giving directions to significant locations, which were then marked on a map. Over twenty different monsters feature, excluding those of the standard races. The game employs basic 3D graphics that were reasonable at the time of release.
