Adventure Game from Electronic Arts, by DreamWorks Interactive
First person action game with adventure game elements. It has a strong story written by the acclaimed horror novelist. Set in Ireland in the 1920s, you take the role of a detective named Magnus, who specializes in the supernatural. He is sent to protect a character called Jeremiah, who lives in a castle haunted by his four ghostly siblings. In order to save Jeremiah, Magnas must embark on an other-worldly quest that sees him facing five challenging bosses.
The game consists of a series of large levels populated with a variety of enemies. The gameplay involves exploration, facing foes, item collection and some puzzle-solving. There are five weapons (including a revolver and a shotgun) and 16 types of magical spell for Magnus to find and use. The game employs the Unreal engine, to good effect. Alongside the single-player game is a multi-player mode, via LAN or online.
