Adventure Game from Spiderweb Software
Retro RPG set in a magical fantasy universe. The title is the name of an underground prison complex which is being purged by the forces of an evil empire. You control a character who, with his mates, has a chance to save the inhabitants of Avernum. The game is an extensively modified version of Exile 2: Crystal Souls. The game is not purely linear. There are three quests and completing one or more of these will complete the game. The gameplay involves exploration, combat , item collection and interaction with NPCs. Magical and conventional weapons are available. The game employs the same game engine of the first Avernum game. The 3D graphics are fairly basic. The game boasts good design and effective.
