Adventure Game from Interplay, by I-Motion
Classic action adventure game. The game has a strong plot loosely based on the work of H.P Lovecraft. You play a detective named Edward Carnby who is investigating a suicide. The action takes place in a mansion in Louisiana and a hellish world to which Carnby is transported.
The game employs detailed pre-rendered environments and 3D characters. The gameplay combines exploration, interaction with a cast of well developed NPCs, puzzle solving and combat.
The control system and interface are generally effective, although combat is challenging. The game boasts excellent design, although as expected the graphics are now dated. Atmospheric music accompanies play.
