Action Game from Activision, Inc., by Paradox Development
Beat 'em up featuring the Marvel characters. This sequel builds upon the strengths of the first game, whilst adding new features and updating the graphics to make use of the increased power of PlayStation 2.
The game combines 3D graphics with side-scrolling fighting. There are sixteen playable characters with six all-new characters including Rogue, Havoc and Nightcrawler. Each has some four special moves plus three super moves/combos. There are three power-ups meters and you can shift charge between each of the meters. New moves have been added including blocks, super moves and all-new aerial moves.
Game options are arcade, academy, survival and two-player versus modes. In academy mode, hosted by Professor X, you can train with each character unlocking bonus features. The academy mode was divided into 'training' and 'independent study'. The game's graphics and controls are effective.
