Action Game from GT Interactive, by Epic Games, Inc.
Acclaimed first-person action game, now available as a budget re-release. The single-player game consists of exploring a series of well-designed levels, collecting power-ups and weapons, limited puzzle-solving and shooting enemies. The game's story is largely developed through high-quality cutscenes. The plot involves enslaved race called the Nali and the game begins with your character crash-landing on their planet. Enemies include the lizard-like Skaarj and the snake-like Slith.
Most of the extensive selection of high-powered can be upgraded and used in at least two ways. Weapons include pistol, cluster bombs and rockets. Other notably items are the force field generator, jump boots and the damage amplifier. The game offers a multi-player mode for up to 16 players over LAN, or fewer on-line. You can even design your own levels. The game's graphics were state of the art at the time and the game boasts high-quality AI. Atmospheric music accompanies play.
