Action Game from Activision, Inc., by Neversoft Entertainment
3D action adventure game featuring the Marvel comic hero. Spider-Man has an extensive selection of moves, abilities and gadgets available. He can use his web in many ways, including to swings between building, shoot and create a shield.
The game combines good graphics and design with well-balanced gameplay. Good cutscenes develop the story. Several villains feature including Dr Octopus, Venom, Scorpion and Mysterio. Spidey also encounters other crime fighters from the Marvel stable including Daredevil, and the Punisher.
Stan Lee, co-creator of Spider-Man, provides the narration and other actors from the cartoon series provide some of the voices. A nice touch to the game is that several Spidey costumes are available. A choice of difficulty levels adds replayability value to the game. The game employs an extensively modified version of the Tony Hawk's engine.
