This plot is set during the 24 hours between the period covered in the first two games. The heroine is again Jill Valentine and her mission is to find her friend, Chris.
The gameplay consists of exploring the levels and facing the numerous zombies that have overrun the area. Many enemy types feature.
You view the action from a third-person perspective and the camera and control systems are effective.
The graphics have been improved since the last game in the series. Good cutscenes intersperse the action and there is a strong story. The game achieves a cinematic feel and sustains suspense. The audio is of a similarly high standard and includes numerous speech samples and an atmospheric soundtrack.
