Space combat and trading game (also known as just Privateer 2: The Darkening). The game has a strong and complex plot largely developed through high-quality cutscenes that intersperse the action. There is some freedom to diverge from the main linear plot, although not as much as that offered in the first game.
You play a character named Ser Lev Arris who wakes up with amnesia. During the game you'll engage in trade and combat. There are nineteen flyable ships, but these, together with weapons have to be purchased with cash earned for successful missions. It is also now possible to hire wingmen.
The game is set in the Wing commander game universe. Significantly, the sector reproduced features all-new races and the Kilrathi do not feature. The game boasts a huge gameworld and good graphics. The control system is effective.
