2D side-scrolling game that combines platform and fighting gaming, with RPG-like character development. Sub-Zero gains experience points as he progresses and these can be used to unlock special moves. He also has an inventory, including keys to access new areas. This game is an off-shoot of the main series of beat 'em ups and it was intended to be the first of several games that focused on the history of one of the well-known Mortal Kombat characters. The story relates the history of Sub Zero and Scorpion also features. The game's graphics and controls are reasonable.
