Action Game from Capcom
3D game featuring the superhero. It diverges with the action/platform gameplay of previous Mega Man games. Whilst shooting is still and major element, RPG character development and gameplay, together with a strong cast of NPCs, have been added. There is a good weapon upgrade system.
The story sees Mega Man and family marooned on the island of 'Kattelox'. With a ship requiring part for repair, Mega Man becomes embroiled in a fight against a group of pirates (the Bonnes) and an old enemy, named Tron. Mega Man is accompanied by a monkey called Data (who enables you to save the game at any time).
You view the action from a third-person perspective and the control and camera systems are effective. Mega Man has a range of moves, including jumps, rolls and kicks.
A enhanced edition of this game was released some time later for N64, called Mega Man 64.
