Stylish third-person action game. You play Max, a New York cop whose family was murdered by the mob. He is sent undercover and then his partner is murdered. Max comes under suspicion and both the police and Mafia come after him.
Max has a wide range of moves and weapons at his disposal, including a baseball bat and a machine gun. An an unusual feature of the gameplay is the ability to slow down time in order to dodge bullets. The game features real-life settings in New York and environments are highly interactive. It boasts high-quality 3D graphics and good AI. The game has realistic violence and gore. Alongside the standard game is the 'New York Minute' mode in which you begin each level with a single minute on the clock and the only way to get more time is to kill an enemy. A mission editor is also incorporated. There is no multi-player mode.
