3D, third-person, action adventure game with RPG component. It is the follow-up to Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and is set in a dark world of vampires.
This sequel is set a thousand years after the end of the last game. You play Raziel, one of Kain's old lieutenants who had been banished to a hellish alternate dimension. In order to live Raziel has to absorb souls, hence the name of the game. You play Raziel in his journey to get revenge against his master. In a novel twist, Raziel can exist in two dimensions. The real world and another dimension called the Spectral Realm. If he dies in the real world he appears in the Spectral Realm and stays there until he has replenished his energy.
You guide Raziel through various 3D gothic-inspired environments and vanquish the enemies therein. You have various attacks at your disposal. The game also includes extensive puzzle-solving elements. The game boasts good graphics and controls.
