Action Game from SNK
Part of a successful series of fighting games by SNK, this is the first installment to have appeared on the Dreamcast. It is effectively a special edition of King of Fighters 98: Dream Match Never Ends. The graphics have been updated, although the game remains essentially 2D. Almost 40 characters are available, each with their own fighting style and special moves.
The game's fighting system includes innovative power gauges. The advanced power gauge is filled up by performing special move and once full you can unleash super power moves. Similarly, the extra power gauge also allows you to perform super moves, but it is filled by repeatedly pressing the same buttons. There is a good range of game options allowing for standard matches and team battles. The multi-player mode allows two people to fight it out. The game's graphics and control system are effective. A large selection of voice samples, sound effects and high-energy tunes are incorporated.
