Action Game from Infogrames, by Rage Software
Action game. Set in the future, you take the role of a member of a force of expendable troops, hence the game's name, as they fight an alien race intent of conquering Earth and her colonies. A large selection of high-powered weapons is available and you pick up gun and ammo power-ups along the way. The game is divided into levels but objectives are not that diverse.
The game is set in lavishly rendered environments. Viewed from a third-person, overhead perspective, the game has an somewhat retro feel. The 3D graphics are generally good and there are some truly spectacular explosions. Play is accompanied by an suitably range of explosive sound effects and techno music.
As well as the single-player game, there is a two-player mode for deathmatch or cooperative action.
