This game is part of a long-running series of side-scrolling platform games released for multiple formats. The gameplay involves exploration of the well-designed levels and facing numerous supernatural foes.
The main character was Alucard, also known as Adrian Fahrenheit, the son of Dracula. Alucard is searching for Richter Belmont star of the earlier games and this involves exploring Dracula's castle for clues. As the son of a vampire Alucard is able to learn how to transform himself into three alternative forms: a bat, a wolf and a mist.
The game's 2D graphics and level design were good. The strong story and high-quality voice acting are also of note.
