2D, side-scrolling fighting game. It features forty-four playable characters including ten brand new ones. A notable aspect of the game is that there are six fighting styles, called grooves, which are based on the earlier games. The game options include single-player tournaments and a two-player versus mode. The game employs lavishly detailed 2D character models with 3D backgrounds. Arena settings include desert, arctic, London streets and a temple.
