Action/RTS game. It combines first-person combat, unit command and resource management.
The game is set in an alternative history of the Cold War in which space travel was perfected early. The plot sees an invasion of our solar system by aliens (the Scions). You play a commander in joint Russian and American force (the International Space Defense Force). The game's 28 missions take place on seven worlds. They begin on Titan and a worm-hole allows you to travel to distant alien worlds. Apart from the Scions, each world has indigenous lifeforms which will attack.
You operate a variety of ships or travel on foot. A wide range of weapons is available. Over 30 new vehicles and 25 new weapons have been added since the last game. In-game both first-person and overhead views are employed. The game employs good 3D graphics and AI. A level editor is incorporated. Multi-player options, include deathmatch and cooperative modes.
